2004 Sherwin Family Cabernet Sauvignon

We are very excited about this vintage, as it is the first time that we have cold-soaked our fruit prior to fermentation. We feel that this has added a new layer of depth and complexity to our already lush Cabernet. Some of you have been to the winery in the past couple of months and have gotten a “sneak peak” of this wine, and, so far, everyone has given it a resounding thumbs up. We hope you will feel the same way when you try it.

We have been growing grapes and making Cabernet Sauvignon on our 30 acre estate since 1996.  We were lucky enough to inherit some plantings of old Cabernet Sauvignon vines, which originally comprised the majority of our wine.  They continue to form the concentrated backbone, and as the younger vines - planted in 1998 - come into their own, they are making important contributions to the color, fruit, and density of the wine.  Some of these young, modern plantings have already caught up to the old vines in quality, and we feel that the future looks bright!
